Enablence Enters Diplexer Deal With Aerospace And Defense Contractor

Ottawa, Ontario — Enablence Technologies Inc., a developer of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Transceivers for optical modems, has received a Diplexer Transceiver development contract from a United States aerospace and defense contractor.

"Enablence has received a contract for the development and delivery of 2.5 Gb/s Diplexer Transceivers for use in the aerospace and defense industries," announced Arvind Chhatbar, the Chief Executive Officer of Enablence Technologies Inc. "Delivery of these Diplexer Transceivers is scheduled for early in calendar year 2007," added Arvind Chhatbar.

"For this contract, the key advantages of Enablence's Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology for Diplexer Transceivers are the integrated chip approach and the small form factor," outlined Mr. Chhatbar. "For applications in the aerospace and defence industry, Enablence's PLC approach can withstand greater stress and strain than competing bulk optics Transceivers and therefore Enablence's products are well suited to meet the needs of this industry as well," explained Mr. Chhatbar.

"We are pleased that our Diplexer Transceiver technology designed for the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) industry can find additional applications in other high growth markets and expand the market reach for our products," explained Mr. Chhatbar.
